Celebrating Girl-Power!

Although the International Women's Day isn't a national holiday in SG like it is in "Albania, Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, China, Cuba, Croatia, Georgia, Italy, Israel, Laos, Latvia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, FyroM [the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia], Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, and Zambia, and is observed by men giving the women in their lives - mothers, wives, girlfriends, daughters, colleagues, etc., flowers and small gifts", I had a great Sunday with two power gal pals in my life. :)

To start off, it was yummy Indonesia lunch with Best Fwen (pronounced 'Cloy' to us who knew her when we were still young and innocent) at Far East Plaza. Then, we dragged her aching legs and arms, and my heavy big bag stuffed with my beloved Macbook, keys, thumbdrive, wallet, lip balm, etc to Botanic Gardens.

But before that, we first dragged the abovementioned to 7-11 and Isetan to grab the "Winners' Drink". What's celebration without happy music (checked: concert at Symphony Lake) and my fave Brown Brothers' Orange and Flora Muscat?


PowerGal 2: One who will be presenting her paper at a conference in UK in June
(Aside: Simply excited for Jo about her academic achievement!) Moving on from Botanic Gardens, I went to Raffles Hotel's old-school coffeehouse for a cuppa to clear my head while waiting for Jo. She arrived promptly and I showed her my Sydney trip pix (to be uploaded to Facebook. Soon.) for the next hour. (Great patience, Jo!)

Then, it was dinner and more live music (without the booze) at Timbre @ Substation, my fave live band hangout. They played our song request, too...

Thank God for sistas like these who'd stand by me in the darkest of days. Oh, for guys, there's an Int'l Men's Day too - on Nov 19. Ha. (Never heard of it, either... =P)
