Da-rrrat-tat-tat!

Watched a fantastic flamenco performance - Ballet Flamenco: Sara Baras (watch mini clip at this link) @ the Durian tonight! The precision in the tap-dance with the music (love the guitars!), the passion that the dancers exude through the forceful yet elegant moves, and the costumes (the flowy skirt! =P) ... not forgetting the singing... kept my eyes glued to the stage (and trying hard not to be distracted by the irritating couple infront of us, who were more interested in each other than in the performance) through the 100 minutes.

Sara Baras (choreographer & lead dancer)

One of the duo guitarists at the performance in SG was sporting enough to attempt a mini pseudo-flamenco dance with his guitar at the finale. Cute!

I like her confidence... and toned arms/back!

Finale

Read abit about flamenco, and understood (kinda) why the singing sounds so middle-easternish. According to Wiki, "Flamenco derives a lot of its music from classic popular arabic music, mainly Adani music, native of Aden in modern day Yemen." No wonder.

I want to go to SPAIN!!!
