Meaning-full 'meaningless...'

Just when i was contemplating about how (mostly) everyone else is earning (much) more $ than me, i re-learnt the basics again.

"Whoever loves money never has money enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with his income. This too is meaningless.

"Then I realized that it is good and proper for a man to eat and drink, and to find satisfaction in his toilsome labor under the sun during the few days of life God has given him -- for this is his lot. Moreover, when God gives any man wealth and possessions, and enables him to enjoy them, to accept his lot and be happy in his work -- this is a gift of God. He seldom reflects on the days of his life, because God keeps him occupied with gladness of heart."
- Ecclesiastes 5

"He seldom reflects on the days of his life" doesn't mean that one is oblivious to Life and its countless philosophies. It means that he doesn't keep count of the past; memories of how he was wronged/taken advantage of/grudges that he could have borne -- he chose not to remember... because he entrusts them in the fullness of God's love. And i suppose that because 'love covers a multitude of sins', that leaves him with more room to be filled with "gladness of heart". hMmm.

Guess God is really trying to inculcate the right attitude that i should have towards work. Besides the book that i am still trying to finish reading, the bible study class has much to say about work too. I really need this now, i guess. It's too easy to feel drained by all this toilsome labour 'under the sun' and declare myself to be Jaded Prisoner number 4389700299284th. Instead, to know that where i am now, and seek to fulfill whatever purpose/need (yes, those kids out there NEED to be traumatised by more text- & assessment books) that has to be met by me. Not trying to elevate the status of my work or worth more than what it is, but knowing that it all has SOME purpose and accountability does make a difference. What can i contribute and what skills will i take away for something that requires my service in the future? Thinking about this brings a glimmer of excitement to my mind. Ha.

More exciting news
i'm gonna be a carpark attendant with another colleague at the other colleague's wedding this sat! And i just helped her solve her problem of too many cars and too few lots (saved for exclusive family and friends) -- give special coupons! Ha, easy and simple but it seemed like i really saved her life from the way she stared at me and feeling incredulous that she didn't think of that while i half-jokingly suggested that, seriously!

One other exciting news
And since the market's in the process of being shifted, with my mum at home (i'm trying to psycho her to stay home), i think i'll have the weekend free.
WHO WANNA GO TO EAST COAST??!! WOOHOO! THE BEACH!!!
