Went back to school with zb to catch a movie in the library (we were that bored). Anyway, it was a good show - we watched "Life is Beautiful" (La Vita e Bella). 
For the clueless, it's this Italian sad-comedy which traces the life of Guido, a humourous and witty Jewish waiter, from the time he arrived at Italy to meeting a woman, Dora, whom he fell in love with at first sight and courting her in the most romantic and dramatic ways, to the short happiness of their married life with their young son, and to the 2nd part of the movie - life in the concentration camp in WW2 Italy. It is amazing how Dora, non-Jew, followed them to the camp, and how Guido managed to put his son and wife above self and stood up against the circumstances to be their emotional support in the camp. Love is the only force that strengthens them and made life living in an ugly world beautiful.
It's often when watching or reading such stories that I feel I have less 'right' to whine and gripe about my life. Ironically, others' misery makes me feel better about my own. "Things could be worse" is a maxim to be remembered when not-so-fortunate events happen. It isn't easy to look for the silver lining when the entire sky is grey, but if that's what one chooses to look out for, things might be different?
But then again... who said that there WILL be a silver lining? .... hahaha. =P
