In a wonderful, touching and comic manner, Good Bye Lenin! tells the story of how a loving son attempts to keep from his mother the fact that the German Democratic Republic no longer exists. A devout communist, she was in a coma when the Berlin Wall fell. Now, to avoid any excitement that might send her into shock, her son must try to recreate the setting around her that existed before the Wall was torn down.
