Bizarre

Something funny happened to me last week. It was a classic case of lost-and-found, with an attached 'moral-of-the-story' that i concocted in my mind today.

A dear friend of mine gave me a small stuffed dog as a graduation gift during our convocation. Upon reaching home, i absent-mindedly placed the doggy on top of my PC, expecting it to stay faithful and guard my com against any virus invasion. Until i remembered the 'enemy' lurks nearby and is always ready to attack when the commander-in-chief is not around. And true to my horror, my nephew did not disappoint me. Alas, i had failed to protect my General.

Guilty of losing it, i did not mention it to my friend. For i bore the slightest hope that one day, the POW will be freed and i will see it come forth from the dust, probably from under the bed/shelf/cabinet tent/tank/castle. However, i was dumbfounded one day when that dear o' friend presented me yet another gift on my birthday -- a very sweet photo we took at the convocation... WITH THE DOG! Because it was in a very nice frame, i took it to the office and tried to brighten up my 6x6 daily battlefield. Everyday, the sight of the (secretly) missing dog haunts my conscience...

AND THE BIZARREsque happened!
I was walking home one day, talking to that dear o' friend on the phone. Because i didn't want to go on the wrong side of the *hub reception-blimp thingy and end the call the abrupt way, i decided to walk a further distance to the other lift. AND as fate would have it, i saw the wounded General Dog lying on the G-R-O-U-N-D! ! ! i could actually recognise it, and i HAD to confess there and then to her on the other end of the line. It was TOTALLY incredulous.

When i went home, everyone was surprised because: i thought my nephew had thrown it outta window, but it was actually my MUM; because my GRANDMA thought it was dirty after my NEPHEW dug it out from under the bed with an umbrella; and of cos because they saw the HaUNTING Hound (true to its name~) again!

Is that cool or what?

.....................

Moral of ze story:
Seems like a very good example of 'what is yours will be yours'. If you insist on making things happen when they just won't, you'll only frustrate yourself (like i did when i tried to look for it...for a few minutes). One day when the timing is right, it will just land at your feet without you knowing it (ha!).

And sometimes honesty isn't always a good policy - at least not until you can escape from the consequence unscathed! Wait for the right moment to speak the truth! :Þ
